Mookaite is named after Mooka Creek, which is in the Kennedy Ranges, near Gascoyne Junction, Western Australia and comes from the T and J Mookaite Mine. Mookaite is only found in Australia and is a fossiliferous sedimentary rock and it is reasonably usual to find cavities left which were most commonly caused by belemnites.

This specimen is suitable for lapidary work such as slabs, cabochons and carvings. It can also be used naturally as well.

This specimen weighs 4.525kgs and measures 280mm long, 110 mm wide and 140mm high.

This item can be viewed at our Exhibition Centre, which is located at 13 Olive Road, Devon Meadows, Victoria, Australia, 3977. Open hours are 10am until 5pm 7 days a week.
